I love the B&W image of a lady in a wheelchair. Seems it can reflect how joy can still be found in one's life even if there are bad times. Your effort in photography will be paid off one day. Congratulations, Ryan.
Thank you my friend. I love what you make of that photograph โ I see it very similarly and the interaction I had with them that day also speaks to what youโre feeling. They told me then that they had just gotten married. Times were hard for them, but they had each other.
I'm enjoying your photos and reading about your journey as a photographer. I can fully relate to the invisible work you're talking about. Especially those experiences of pursuing something you're passionate about while others are confused and think you're wasting your time. I spent years building a clothing brand and it took getting carried in major retailers for them to change the perspective or see what I had seen the whole time.
Hey my friend โ first off, thanks a ton for taking the time to read. Appreciate you sharing your experiences. I know I am in no way alone in those feelings and experiences of putting in the work while others donโt quite understand, but it is reassuring to hear it from someone like yourself firsthand.
Itโs funny, I even get the sense that my family sees it differently now. Which I can totally appreciate, since they donโt know much about photography. But it is nice to know that their support isnโt just the unconditional type of love/support theyโre obligated to give haha!
Thanks again for sharing. Congratulations on all of the successes on your own journey.
I am so happy for you. I am constantly amazed by how people pick up a camera and become amazing image makers. I went to school for it and that doesn't teach you what you really need, unless you find the right mentor. All of my new photo friends are great image makers and all because they love what they do.
As you noted, your journey continues, but you can take a pause and thump your chest for a minute Ryan. This is huge. I live just outside DC so Imma go visit.

Thank you Aaron!
