28mm or 35mm are the only way to travel!

You’re not kidding! I carry a 75mm with me but you can’t beat the convenience of the wider M mount lenses

I love using my Voigtlander 40mm f2.8 Heliar on my M3, a great focal length. I bought the L39 version though so I could also use it on my iif as well to make a tiny combination for travelling light.

Oh that looks like a lovely little lens! Super compact. I would definitely think it pairs well for travel! I am actually quite happen with the size of this 35mm too. Pretty small for f/1.5

I use a Konica Hexar RF which is a Leica M mount body. I use a Carl Zeiss 28mm f/2.8 ZM mostly. I do have a Hexnon 50mm f/2 that I rarely use. I haven’t tried the 35mm focal length maybe I should. 28mm is fine but sometimes I wish it was a little tighter.

That is a great set up, and I hear great things about Zeiss lenses.

The first day I transitioned to the Q2M, with its 28mm lens, I thought I had made a grave mistake. It felt so foreign to me. However I learned to love that focal length. Even for portraits, although I felt like the sweet spot for distance from the subject was very small. You have to be close, but not so close that it distorts.

I really do like the rendering of the Zeiss 28mm lens, I am hoping I can borrow the 35mm version and see if I like it and then commit to buying one. I am thinking about getting a 35mm f mount lens and slapping it on my F2 and forcing myself to use that focal length for a month and see how I feel about it after.
